Spirits of the Red Sand is located in Southern Queensland, Australia.  We are located halfway between two of Southern Queensland’s most popular destinations:  Brisbane and Gold Coast.

BRISBANE – (30 mins)

Spirits of the Red Sand is set within the Beenleigh Historical Village – which offers visitors an authentic journey back in time and boasts an extensive collection of twenty heritage buildings and features early Australia memorabilia.

Our unique location at Beenleigh Historical Museum allows you to witness first-hand the sights and scenes of 19th century Aboriginal Australia. Also available for special events, our venue is ideal for weddings, corporate functions, and educational tours. The fully licensed Tin Cup Café is located on-site and open daily for you to enjoy fresh home-cooking and bakery treats, all-day breakfast, specialty coffee and teas.

 

DIRECTIONS

We are located halfway between Brisbane and Gold Coast off the M1 Exit 35 South, either direction.

From Brisbane CBD or Airport:  30 minutes.

From Gold Coast Airport: 45 minutes.  From Broadbeach, Gold Coast or Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast:  40 minutes.

Directions from Brisbane: 

  • Take Exit 35 South from Pacific Motorway M1 toward State Route 94/Main St/Beenleigh (South)
  • Exit the roundabout at State Route 94. Drive to Main Street
  • At the roundabout, take the 4th exit onto State Route 94
  • At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Main Street.
  • Enter first driveway for Beenleigh Historical Village. Opposite Mitre 10 and Amart Furniture.

Directions from Gold Coast:

  • Take Exit 35 South from Pacific Motorway M1 toward Main St/Beenleigh (South)
  • Continue on State Route 94. Drive to Main Street
  • At the roundabout take the 1st exit onto State Route 94
  • At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Main Street
  • Enter first driveway for Beenleigh Historical Village. Opposite Mitre 10 and Amart Furniture.

Directions from Beenleigh Train Station:

We are a 3-minute drive or a 20 min walk from Beenleigh Train Station.  With prior notice we can pick you up from the train station, just call or email our office.

  • Driving – Head south-east
  • Turn left towards Main St
  • Turn left at the 1st cross street onto Main St
  • Turn left onto Main St/State Route 94
  • At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto main St

Directions from Brisbane Cruise Terminal:

  • Take Kingsford Smith Dr/State Route 25 to Links Ave N in Eagle Farm
  • Head north towards MacArthur Ave
  • Turn Left onto MacArthur Ave
  • Turn right onto Remora Rd
  • Turn right onto Kingsford Smith Dr/State Route 25
  • Use the right 2 lands to turn right onto Links Ave N
  • Merge onto M1
  • Take the Miles Platting Rd exit towards Eight Mile Plains
  • Keep left at the fork, follow signs for M1/Gold Coast and merge onto M1
  • Use the left 2 lands to take exit 35 towards State Rte 94/Main St/Beenleigh (South)
  • Continue on State Route 94. At the roundabout, take the 4th exit onto State Route 94
  • At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Main St
  • Turn into 1st driveaway on left, opposite Amart Furniture

Uber/Taxis:

Ask the driver to take you to Beenleigh Historical Village – 205 Main Street, Beenleigh.
